Dear Mr Köber,
today I would like to tell you about our experiences
with your dog food. Since 2005, our dog Bafy (Basset Hound,
5 years old) has been suffering from allergies. Unfortunately,
he suffered from mites of all kind. And on top of that, he
has always been a poor eater. Often, he didn't eat for days,
he suffered from severe gastrointestinal problems and disastrous
liver values. But all this is gone now. Thank you so much!
And now let's go to cause and effects:
In late summer 2007, the allergy got worse. Additionally,
Bafy suffered from severe stomach problems which were at their
worst at that time. After I had thrown away another package
of dog food (allegedly a premium "sensitive" version,
3kg), because Bafy again had thrown up his food, I took a
look at the journal "Unser Rassehund", for I knew
I had seen your advertisement in it. I read your advertisement
once again, called you up immediately and told your employee
about my problems. She listened patiently, then recommended
feeding only light food at first so that Bafy's stomach and
bowels could have a rest and be able to recuperate together
with his liver. I listened to this advice and asked her to
send us some light food and treats. And this proved to be
godsend. This happened 14th of August, 2007. Already the next
day I was able to feed the light food. Of course, I was suspicious.
And at first, Bafy didn't want to eat his new food. But then
he changed his mind and finally ate up everything in his bowl
with great enthusiasm. This made me anticipate the worst because
Bafy had suffered from acid regurgitation after feeding during
the past few months. Gastric juices would run down to his
chest. After that he suffered from flatulence and diarrhoea
or constipation. This especially happened when he had eaten
a lot. Fortunately, this didn't happen that often. So, after
Bafy had eaten “Köber's light”, I waited
for things to take their inevitable course as they had in
the past. But believe it or not ... nothing happened at all.
The dog even didn't burp. After feeding, he just went back
to normal and didn't seem to have any problems with his stomach.
From the first day on, your dog food really agreed with him.
“Köber’s light” is ideally
suited for Bafy. In October, he again enjoyed windfall fruits
without repercussions. He ate his daily meals, which he never
did before and he really ate a lot (according to your schedule
he received ten mugs a day, sometimes even more), and was
fed little second helpings sometimes late in the evening and
everything was great. But in December, we were in a right
mess. Bafy had gained four (4!) kg in weight! And these were
distributed so evenly, that they even didn't appear to be
that much. The veterinarian, however, who was to inoculate
Bafy against rabia, had noticed and weighed him. Of course,
this was not for the hoped-for result. But I´m anticipating.
Before that, many more things had happened. After the light
food had proved to be a perfect godsend, I was of the opinion,
that, due to Bafy's allergy, I might feed your complete "Erfolgsquartett"
and so I bought the rest of it, that is "Supermix GJ"
and the "Kräutermischung" in your shop in Bochum.
And very soon I needed fresh supply of the light food. To
be on the safe side, I had only ordered 4kg of "Köber's
light". Never before, our dog has eaten 4kg of food in
such a short time. Our dog Bafy really has started to enjoy
his food again. He likes the food.
However, "Supermix GJ" at first did not agree with
Bafy, as it was still too rich for his stomach. He suffered
from burping and started scratching more often than usual.
There were some problems with the "Kräutermischung",
too, so your employees told me to just stop feeding it. However,
I was not quite sure if Bafy's problems were really due to
this. It was still August, the number of harvest mites was
on the rise and the allergy got worse. Until then, Bafy was
doing quite well. As far as the allergy was concerned, I was
now using silica and evening primrose oil, which used to work
really fine, but it stopped working in August. However, Bafy
was untroubled by big wheals and pustules or even inflammation
and eczemas, which was a very substantial progress. Nevertheless,
the allergy was conspicuous through ugly coat discolourations
in the armpits and on legs and arms. Since 2005, Bafy had
suffered from crusts on his elbows from his sebaceous glands;
in this summer, however, they stayed dry for the very first
time. But again and again he had red spots, that is irritated
skin on the abdomen and the inner surface of the thighs. However,
this was the best summer since 2004.
Bafy was fed with "Köber's light"
only. And, of course, with treats. In mid-October, I was not
the only one thinking that the allergy had got better. Once
again I took photos of the problem area. In comparison with
a photo taken on 12th of August, I realised that a substantial
improvement had taken place. It was easy to see and hard to
believe. Things were really happening! When I had to buy new
dog food, I took both photos with me and showed them to your
Ms Walter. She was so enthusiastic, that the "confiscated"
the photos right away in order to show them to you. Of course
I didn't mind.
So Bafy struggled bravely through summer and autumn.
The allergy was kept within limits, with an occasional minor
relapse but then two or three leaps forward to compensate.
The brown spots became smaller, stomach and bowel had recuperated
completely. Bafy was in top form again. He perked up more
each day without being hyped up. Since I have been feeding
your dog food, he doesn't suffer from either diarrhea or constipation
No longer he does suffer from flatulence, grumbling or squeaking
in the tummy. He has no more acid indigestion, the bad breath
is gone. His chin is always dry, and the eczema, which was
usually very pronounced and swollen under his chin, is a thing
of the past. Liver values are okay. So everything is fine.
Except for the four kilos he´s gained.
But well, maybe you can't have everything; however,
we've got to get rid of them, as Bassets very often suffer
from joint problems. In the meantime, Bafy gets the complete
"Erfolgsquartett". "Supermix GJ" now agrees
with him very well, and so does the "Kräutermischung".
Since 29th of December, I am feeding both, additionally to
"Köber's light". But he now gets less and no
longer gets late meals. The allergy is getting better, we
tackled the house dust mites with a spray and they are now
not much in evidence. There are still some contact problems
with slight red marks, because I obviously didn't spray all
over, however, Bafy no longer reacts so strongly. His coat
used to quickly turn a dark brown colour, but now only gets
a light reddish brown. Bafy's body is really adjusting. We
only have to be patient, but we are on the right track and
will surely reach our goal. So if it takes a few months more
- never mind. The main thing is that something positive is
happening. And what was most important for me, namely to help
Bafy's stomach and bowel, is long taken care of. Now, he neither
needs pills for his stomach nor for his liver. And this is
great. I can't help but being enthusiastic and convinced by
your great dog food, with an incredible value for money. With
a clear conscience, I can recommend your pet food to everyone.
Yours sincerely

Subject: A big thanks to the management of Köber!
I would like to take this opportunity to express
my gratitude! Approximately 2 years ago,I discovered your company
while I was desperately searching for a dog food that would
agree with my Maltese dog, who, at that time, was 3 years old.
The email I sent to you was answered immediately and in detail
and I followed your advice. Since 2006, I have been feeding
"Köber's light". And since then, my dog has had
no trouble with intestinal problems and itching. He is very
chirpy and still loves your dog food. Best wishes (Personal

Subject: My German Shepherd "Aaron vom Stapelholmer Land"
Dear family Köber,
I simply have to contact you to take this opportunity
of shaking your hand. In November 2004, I took over my German
Shepherd, Aaron, from his previous owners in a very bad condition.
Skin and coat had suffered badly and lost all
their shine, his energy was at a low point ... My veterinarian
and I tried out all sorts of things on him. He got injections,
diet food, etc. etc. But things didn't get better ...
In the beginning of 2008, I think, it was in February,
I came across your Website by chance. After I had read everything
carefully, I orderd 2 bags of "Köber'sAuslese".
(Just for your information: I have 3 Shepherds.)
When I got the food, I was sceptical at first
(I already had tried sooo much). But, nothing ventured, nothing
gained. So I fed "Köber's Auslese" to all of
my dogs. After approximately 6 weeks, Aaron's coat started
becoming shiny and his skin problems disappeared, slowly,
but surely.
I am sooo happy about your product, that there
will be no other dog food for me and my dogs. Your food agrees
very well with all of my dogs and they are looking very fit.
This summer, I took a photo of my dog that I would like to
show you. Of course, you may use this email as a testimonial,
if you like ...
Thanks a lot, best wishes (personal data

Subject: "Erfolgquartett" Dear family
Köber,
we were successful and are deeply grateful to
your dog food. We are owners of a 3 year old French bulldog,
female. Since her birth she has suffered from skin problems,
thin, lusterless coat, hair loss, weeping itchy skin etc.
She also was very restless. After endless and above all, expensive,
visits to the veterinarian I found your dog food on the Internet.
Since Christmas we have been feeding the "Erfolgsquartett",
and we no longer have to be embarrassed by a "bold"
dog and are pleased with the shiny coat of our calm, attractive
female bulldog. Now we intend to switch over the food so that
we no longer have to order these quantities. What can you
recommend us? Once again, thanks a lot for this outstanding
food,
yours sincerely

To: info@koebers.de Dear family Köber,
five weeks ago, our Fidel, a Havanese, now aged
7 months, was diagnosed with a pancreatic disease. Our veterinarian
recommended a canned diet dog food, which we were to feed
in order to get better pancreatic values. After Fidel had
suffered from the worst diarrhea for more than a week, during
which we spent many sleepless nights, the veterinarian recommended
us to feed enzymes as a supplement and then test the values
once again. But this was exactly what we didn't want to do.
So I searched on the Internet for a very long time and finally
discovered your company and your dog food. For 4 weeks, Fidel
has now been eating "Köber's light", herbs
("Kräuter"), and some treats and - Lo and behold.
Last week's test showed outstanding results. Everything is
okay now, Fidel doesn't "produce" more than 2 or
3 well-shaped small droppings a day, he has gained weight
and obviously feels comfortable. I'll plug your dog food,
and as far as I am concerned, "I am so glad there's Köber's"!

To: info@koebers.de Hello! Today I would
like to tell you about my dog who has been suffering from
eczemas and severe itching ever since he was a puppy. Switching
food to different foods "for the sensitive dog"
and months of treatments with cortisone and antibiotics were
not successful at all. The itching remained, the coat was
lusterless and the dog´s coat even started falling out.
Due to the festered spots on the skin, the dog gave off a
specific smell. We were really stumped.
Then, by hazard, I read about Köber's dog food. As I
wanted to leave nothing undone, I simply ordererd it. Our
dog continued to be treated by the vet. I ignored the "piece
of good advice" from the veterinarian, who was of the
opinion, that our dog should only be fed with horsemeat from
now on. Instead I used to feed Köber's, just as I did
the previous 3 months. The itching got better, the sores healed
and our dog's coat became soft and shiny. And yesterday, the
moment of truth arrived: The veterinarian wanted to start
with injection therapy. This was planned a long time ago.
But she didn't believe her eyes when she saw that our dog
no longer suffered from any symptoms. As of now, I was able
to discontinue medications and for the time being, there is
no mention of injections. I can only recommend to every pet
owner to start feeding right from the beginning with products
from "Köber's". Thanks a lot.

Message: Hello, you have listed some testimonials
on the Internet. Today, I'd also like to report on the experience
I made with your dog food. I am a dog owner of a little crossbreed
from Spain who started suffering from itching as soon as she
arrived in Germany; maybe this was due to the change in her
living circumstances. I tried many sorts of dog food, and
I really mean many. Of course, I didn't change the food every
week, but I tried for a longer period of time. Most of the
time, everything went well for the first 2 - 4 weeks, but
then the itching started all over again. With some sorts of
food, the itching started after only 1-2 days. And then I
discovered Köber's on the Internet. I was really desperate,
and as I have been disappointed so often, I admit that at
first I didn't believe in Köber's either! I ordered the
"Erfolgsquartett" against itching, allergies, eczemas
and licking in the smallest packaging unit possible. In the
beginning, there was thin stool, but it is stated on the packaging
that this might happen. However, I thought to myself, this
is a great start... But - miracle of miracles - the itching
started to get better. The thin stool disappeared slowly and
got back to normal. I've been feeding Köber's for half
a year now, and I have to admit, this dog food is some kind
of wonder to me. My bitch is now able to live like a normal
dog, without allergies and without cortisone. The itching
disappeared, and I am so happy. As treats, she gets "Köber's
Leckerchen", and as a special reward "Köber's
Fleischbrocken", and both agree with her very well. Currently,
her allergy is so stabilised that she sometimes is even allowed
to nibble another biscuit, but only very rarely. I would like
to recommend "Köber's Erfolgsquartett" to every
dog owner. It might not help every dog, but it is worth a
try, and it really helped my dog. Probably, I'll soon get
a second dog. And of course, he'll get "Köber's"
as well. I'd like to say THANK YOU to Köber's company.
There is nothing better than a healthy dog without itching
and with a coat soft and shiny.
Yours sincerely

Dear Mr Köber!
For 6 1/2 years, we have been dog owners
of a Hovawart. Approximately 1 1/2 years ago, he started
suffering from itching and eczemas and his coat at the
tail disappeared completely, so that he was only left
with a bald, pink "thing". The coat also disappeared
on his head and his hindquarter, which looked from the
back like a kind of jodhpurs. Bald spots the size of
A4 sheets of paper on his legs completed the pathetic
sight. Our visits to the veterinarian produced nothing
but an expensive treatment with cortisone. Then a colleague
told us about your food.
When we started feeding it this year in
summer, we hardly had a spark of hope. But about approximately
4 weeks after we first fed "Köber's light",
combined with "Köber's Kräutermischung",
the first positive results appeared. Very slowly, the
bald spots disappeared, the shining eyes returned, the
itching stopped and the dog became more and more energetic.
Now, after 6 months, he's nearly himself again and the
skin problems are imperceptible. We would like to express
our sincere thanks for the help we got concerning the
coat problems of our dog. We will recommend your food
so it can help other dogs suffering from the same problems.
Yours sincerely

Dear family Köber,
Since 1997, our 5 year old Westie bitch,
Mindi, has suffered from eczemas, extreme itching, dark
skin discolourations and severe hair loss, mainly on
her flanks, neck, back and paws. 3 conventional vets
and one alternative practitioner tried in vain to help
her. Blood tests, skin tests and biopsies were carried
out and cultures were grown. Injections, ointments,
drugs and different feeding recommendations failed.
Sometimes there was a slight improvement, but it never
lasted. The costs went on rising - and Mindi went on
suffering. She got plump because of cortisone and too
little excercise - she no longer wanted to play or run.
In the waiting room of the non-veterinary practitioner
I saw your advertisement in a dog journal, and as I
wanted to leave nothing undone in order to help our
dog, I came into your shop approximately 1/2 year ago.
Following your advice, I bought your diet food, the
"Kräutermischung" and canned food. At
first, I had to mix some canned food with the diet food,
so that Mindi got used to it. Now she only gets the
diet food combined with a little bit of the "Kräutermischung".
The result: Mindi is a happy dog again. The skin looks
healthy and the coat (top hair and undercoat) is back
to 100 per cent. I am convinced of the quality of your
products and will stick to this feeding method. I recommended
your company to other dog owners who could see for themselves
from the development of Mindi's state of health. Thank
you also very much for your competent advice und I wish
you good luck for you and your company for the future.
Yours sincerely

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear family Köber,
the photos in the first part of this letter
show our dog at the end of April 1998, a short time
before we started radically and consistently to switch
over to Köber's products. The dog suffered quite
clearly from severe skin problems, itching and partly
already inflamed eczemas (above all at the flanks and
the back); due to the constant itching and presumably
because of the sores, the dog was restless, nervous
and could not cope with stress, very often, he suffered
from very bad diarrhoea and lost weight constantly.
As our "regular veterinarian" soon was no
longer able to help, we kept on searching for new vets
again and again. But no one was able to help our dog.
Over and over again, new diagnoses were given, and we
kept on getting bills, which were far from small, the
state of health of our dog, however, didn't change.
The diagnoses ranged from a dysfunction of the pancreas
through to fox mange and the after-effects of canine
parvovirus when the dog was a puppy through to liver
dysfunction. Dog sports colleagues and experienced dog
trainers suggested that the dog should swim as often
as possible ("swimming is good for the skin"),
that the dog shouldn't swim at all ("swimming is
no good for the skin"), that the dog should be
kept outside more often ("because it is probable
that the dog suffers from a house mite allergy"),
and that the dog should be kept in the house more often
("because, how could the sores heal outside?!").
But nobody talked about switching over to a good dog
food. Additionally, we soon had to stop a promising
career in sports for a while, as the dog simply no longer
had the energy. By then, I had no idea, that the root
of all this evil could have been the dog food. I had
already tried a lot of expensive and recommended name-brand
products, just to get the same "result" again
and again.
In the beginning of April 1998, our latest veterinarian
gave us the choice of either taking the dog into his
surgery every 4 weeks and paying about 150 DM for treatment
and drugs (injections against the itching, pills for
the pain from sores and as a precaution against inflammation,
ointments and powder for the sores) or to have the dog
put down. The latter I wanted to avoid no matter what.
It was then that I remembered an advertisement of Köber
placed in a SV journal. It promised dog food that helped
with skin problems. Well, it seemed to be worth a try.
On the same day, we made our way to Wattenscheid and
were advised in detail. However, I was very suspicious.
Of course, every salesman wants to sell his product,
and I had already tried so many kinds of dog food -
and was "taken for a ride". Nevertheless,
I wanted to try.
We drove back home with a big bag of diet food, a big
bag of "Supermix" and a big can of the "Kräutermischung".
For four weeks, the dog got smaller portions of the
diet-Supermix blend with a hint of Kräutermischung
three times a day (in order to give his stomach a break,
that was badly upset anyway), after that, he got his
meals twice a day. I was really surprised to see my
dog cheerfully eating every scrap in his bowl right
from the beginning. Until then, I had only known him
as a really poor and fastidious eater. Already after
six weeks we could see first positive results. The eczemas
healed, the skin recovered, his coat got thicker and
shinier, the hair breakage disappeared, diarrhoea was
gone after a few days and the dog became more balanced
and much quieter. As he got stronger and more agile,
I slowly started working with him in the dog sports
arena after 3 months. After six months altogether I
switched from the diet food to “Supermix”
and the “Kräutermischung”. From that
moment, the dog also got bull pizzles or larynxes occasionally.
In the meantime, he is fed with the high performance
food every now and then - which has turned out to be
perfect for him. The photos in the second part show
our dog as he looks today, nine, nearly ten months later.
He is calm, balanced and resilient. He enjoys work and
shows the sort of motivation that he never had before.
His teeth look much better (the plaque has gone!), the
"dog smell" has gone, and as a whole, the
dog has filled out very well. Today, my dog and I are
very successful in activities besides the "usual"
(guard dog and tracking tests), namely in dog sports
tournaments (cross-country race 2000m, 5000m, quadrathlon
with slalom, hurdles, obedience and agility course)
and I want this to last at any rate. Would the enormous
improvement in my dog's health and the subsequent success
in sports have been possible without switching over
to Köber products? Hmh. I rather doubt this. When
I think it over again and recall to mind the veterinarian's
words about putting down, then I guess I definitely
have to answer in the negative. It was really hard to
believe that all our dog's health problems were only
due to nutrition, and still today I am sometimes angry
with myself that I didn't realise this earlier. Would
I recommend Köber's dog food? Yes, I would. Without
hesitation. I would recommend being very consistent
in switching over to this food and, above all, to be
strict with yourself (so no niblets of liver sausage
or the like between meals), a little patience (nothing
happens overnight), a little bit of simultaneous coat
care including combing and brushing and no going back
to old habits when the first positive results appear!
Of course it might not be that easy to stick to this
"diet" consistently for you and for the wellbeing
of your dog, but it's definitely worth it!!!
With affectionate regards from a dog sport
fan and a hearty "woof"!

Dear family Köber,
I would like to take this opportunity and
tell you how satisfied we are with your food. Since
we got to know you at the trade fair in Dortmund in
2002, we have been feeding our dogs with "Köber's
Lamm & Reis" and "Köber's Reis mit
Rind & Lamm", and to date our dogs have taken
to them very well. I recommended your dog food to many
of my own customers and they tell me exactly the same.
Some even told me that their dog now eats every scrap
in the bowl compared to former times when some food
was always left. In addition, I recommend "Köber's
Supermix GJ", "Köber's light" and
the "Kräutermischung" for dogs suffering
from diseases of the skin that are due to an allergy
caused by feedingstuff, for dogs suffering from chronic
itching, for dogs with a sensitive stomach (vomiting,
diarrhoea) and for dogs that are overweight. Additionally,
my wife noticed that we get by longer with a bag of
"Köber's Lamm & Reis" than with the
dry feeding of another brand. This may be due to the
fact that the food swells through the addition of water.
Another advantage is that your food is delivered directly
to the end consumer; dog owners can order at your shop
directly and in this way we avoid unnecessary storage
costs and the risk of expiry through the storage in
my surgery. Although I do order the food for some of
my customers at your shop, this is a lot of work due
to the numerous consumers. Another decisive advantage
of your food is the processing in Germany and that it
is possible to visit your place of production. Stick
to the quality of your food, it is outstanding!
